The Jefferson Area Chamber of Commerce did a roadside cleanup between Scravel Hill Rd and the Jefferson bridge on Saturday Spe 22.  Many thanks to those who helped, including Mersha Studer, Barbara Hilton, Nancy Hamby, LuAnn Hamby and Susan Boquist.

To be honest, we could have used some additional help so that we could also clean up between Robison Road south into Jefferson, but we'll do that next time.  It was a wonderful fall day to be outside !!

Greens Bridge Gardens hosted a business open house for the Jefferson Are Chamber of Commerce yesterday that was a fun event!  Dean Laube gave us a tour of the grounds on a hay wagon and explained their operations.  Greens Bridge Gardens is a seasonal produce stand open from May to October that also features hanging baskets, local honey and pickles, as well as fresh produce and fruit, much of which is grwon right there.  Their web site
My daughter and I performed at Downtown Dog in Lebanon last Friday, the 22.  We do a little blues, a little R & B and some originals, with voice, piano and guitar.  We'll be returning to Downtown Dog on July 14th from 6 to 8 PM.

A friend sent this to me yesterday, thought I'd share it:

What Makes a Dad

God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle's flight,
The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,
Then God combined these qualities,
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so,

He called it ... Dad

It's allergy weather for me again!  Who else out there suffers as much as I do?  No real reflection on Jefferson, just humor... when I say we could be known as the "Allergy Capital of World!"  Ha Ha

My many thanks to the Jefferson United Methodist Church for hosting a Community Meal last night that was free to all members of the town!  That's an example of a great friendly outlook by community members.  The Methodist Church is one of our historic buildings on land donated by Jimmy Bates.
