We had a great time helping with the Festival of Flowers May 4, supporting the Friends of the Jefferson Library raise money to build a new library building.  Flowers, entertainment and food, along with a 5K/10K walk event helped bring many new faces to our town.

The Jefferson Area Chamber helped sponsor the event and had a presence there with a display booth, giveaways, and several chamber members staffing their own booths.

The Greater Jefferson Community Center had its doors open for a rummage sale, and the Jefferson Rural Fire department helped out with logistics.

It was good to see the Jefferson High School students perform music from their school play, "Guys and Dolls" as well as the jazz choir Harmonix, Jazz Band and Pep Band.  Thanks to Christina Kramer and Jill Hickenlooper for participating!

The Party Time Band added a country music flavor to the event:  Thank you Eddie and Gracie Delk!

And most of all: thank you Mother Nature for a beautiful day on which to celebrate the umpteenth Festival of Flowers!

The Jefferson Area Chamber is holding a the Road Side Cleanup Saturday April 20th 2013 -

We do this twice a year on Hwy 99 between Scravel Hill and Robison Rd, a 4
mile stretch. We divide into 4 groups to do smaller sections and get it done
in about 2 hours.

Please put it in or on your calendar and help keep the town looking good!

We'll meet at the community center on Saturday between 8 - 8:30 AM. Bring
good walking shoes (no flip flops) and gloves to keep your hands warm, we supply the bags, safety vests and grabbers. Participants must be 16 years of age or older.

The Greater Jefferson Community Center is at 107 N. Main Street, Jefferson at Main and Union.

The Marion County Commissioners present the state of the county at the Jefferson community center on Tuesday Feb 19th at noon!

During the recent Jefferson School District open house, I learned that they have started the Jefferson Community Virtual Academy, serving grades 3 through 12 via which students can earn a state accredited Jefferson diploma. Phone 541-327-3337 or see www.jefferson.k12.or.us
